Harvey started publicly journaling around the same time she started having sex, which makes everything from the early days pretty cringe-worthy. She likes to think her pieces contain that same element, while still commanding attention, and making you feel funny in whatever you think of as your sex organs. A professional pervert of note once told her that the trick to writing "smut with words" was that no one should be able to make the link between you and your writing because you can't really write about sex in an honest, filthy way without anonymity. That was 2008, and she's thought about that a lot since. Thus, she makes sure to have a few drinks before reading. Ya know, to make herself anonymous. To herself.
